The Good Works Fund of the Rotary Club of Traverse City
Good Works means good things for people in the Grand Traverse Region.
Since 1942, proceeds from the Traverse City Rotary Club’s Rotary Show have funded the GOOD WORKS Fund, which supports projects that address unmet needs in our area. The GOOD WORKS Committee accepts grant requests from local community organizations for projects and initiatives, primarily in Grand Traverse County. Since the inaugural Rotary Show, Rotarians continue their tradition of hard work, creative thinking and dedication towards raising cash to reinvest in our community/region with the sole purpose of distinguishing our area as special place to live.
The GOOD WORKS Fund committee has prioritized areas for funding. They are:
- Arts and culture
- Basic human needs
- Environment
- Families
- Health and safety
- Recreation
- Seniors
- Youth
What does funding from the GOOD WORKS Fund cover? Things like capital expenditures, equipment, one-time special opportunities or events, participation fees, sponsorships and new projects. The broader the impact of the project to our area, the more favorable review it will receive from the GOOD WORKS Committee. The grants do not fund 100 percent of a project's cost. Applicants are encouraged to have alternative or additional funding sources in place prior to applying.
