Welcome to the Rotary Club of Traverse City,

I moved to Traverse City in 2005 and loved the town pretty quickly, but something was missing to make it feel complete.  Shortly after my arrival to town, a new friend invited me to a Rotary meeting. I knew from day one, I wanted to be a part of this organization.  I love being with people that all lived the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.” 14 years later, I can still say it’s one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

Rotary is a group of diverse individuals coming together to impact communities, locally and globally, by effecting positive change through service and philanthropy. Rotary also provides a framework for personal and business relationships, networking and fellowship.

Founder, Paul Harris and a small group of businessmen in the Chicago area started rotary more than 112 years ago. Since then, Rotary has grown into an international humanitarian organization with 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs in over 200 countries. Rotary has led the way to eradicate Polio, feed the hungry, provide clean water and bring peace to the world. You can learn more about the history of Rotary by going to www.rotary.org.

Our club, formed in 1920 and has approximately 250 members. We meet every Tuesday at noon for lunch in Traverse City. Each week we take time for fellowship, fun, business and an informative and interesting program.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF is the motto of Rotary International and every Rotary Club in the world. It’s the driving force that makes Rotary one of the largest and most important service organizations in the world. Our club offers multiple opportunities to serve the club, community and the world through our various committees. Whether you are interested in the environment, youth services, music, technology, marketing and public relations, helping the less fortunate, social events or world community service, we have a committee that fits your passion.

If you want to make a difference in our community and are interested in joining our club, you may submit an application by clicking on the HOW TO JOIN tab on the left side of this page.
